It does all the things i wanted it to do and more. we actually bought two of them and we are very pleased with our purchase. The keyboard was not too small and RAM effectively managed web applications. Windows 7 Starter is minimalist; any applications beyond Web access will need drivers downloaded. I use this netbook for days before I have to recharge it. Without a doubt, this laptop's greatest feature is its phenomenal battery life. I upgraded to 2gb of ram shortly after purchase, and also installed Windows 7 Ultimate Edition x64 (which works beautifully, if you were wondering). I enjoy snappy performance of all of my MS Office productivity programs, as well as speedy web browsing, movie playback, and music. This is, of course, not my primary computer as I also own a full-featured 17" notebook. However, the Asus EEE PC 1005pe is a fine travel companion, and I can do everything I need and want with it on the road with virtually no compromises. I always feel like performance is up to snuff, and even this impatient reviewer never thinks anything lags too much. Upgrade the ram, upgrade the OS if you like (I definitely like!), and you will have more of a "notebook" than a "netbook."
